MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 42 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT,
AND SUBSECTION 25(1) OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION REGULATIONS
Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Rural Municipality of St. Peter’s Bay that a Municipal Election will be held on November 2nd, 2026, to elect the mayor and 6 councillor(s) for the Rural Municipality of St. Peter’s Bay for the term of office terminating on the 6th day of December 2030.
The nomination period for the council positions noted above opens on October 7th, 2026, and closes at 2:00 pm on Nomination Day, October 16th, 2026.
Nominations can be received at the election office 5549 St. Peter’s Rd, St. Peter’s Bay, PE, C0A 2A0 by the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) or Returning Officer at the following times:
· Wednesday, October 7th, 2026, 9am to 1pm
· Thursday, October 8th, 2026, 9am to 1pm
· Monday, October 12th, 2026, 9am-1pm
· Tuesday October 13th, 2026, 9am-1pm
· Wednesday October 14th, 2026, 9am-1pm
· Thursday October 15th, 2026, 9am-1pm
· Friday, October 16, 2026, 9am to 2pm
Candidates are responsible for confirming their eligibility to be nominated prior to submitting their nomination form.
The deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 am on October 20th, 2026.
