Over the next few weeks, the intersection of St Peters Rd and Cardigan Road will see the installation of a new roundabout. Limited sightlines has been a concern at this intersection, as well as traffic sometimes assuming that cars will always turn towards Charlottetown, resulting in accidents and near misses at this corner. The new roundabout will help alleviate these safety concerns.

Project Details: Construction of a new Single Lane Mini  Roundabout, the roundabout is designed such that it has a fully mountable concrete center island and concrete medians to allow large trucks and farm machinery to move through the intersection. This project also consists of realigning roughly 150 meters of road on the East leg of the intersection to better align with the new roundabout, realigning a short section of the Confederation Trail near the intersection and  installation of new street lighting and concrete curb. Two-way, stop-and-go traffic will be in place during construction hours. Motorists should be prepared to stop, obey signs and traffic control personnel. Delays can be expected.
